Access to personal data

The Finland Myanmar Society Ry tries to be as open as it can be in terms of giving people access to their personal data. You can find out if we hold any personal data about you by making what's known as a 'subject access request'. If we do hold data about you we will:

• Give you a description of it; 
• Tell you why we are holding it; 
• Tell you whom it could be disclosed to; and 
• Let you have a copy of the information in an intelligible form, subject to any legal exemptions or limitations that may apply. 

To make a request for any personal data we may hold please write to our Data Protection Team, either at [email protected] or at The The Finland Myanmar Society Ry, Hämeentie 58-60, 00500 Helsinki, Finland. As above, we may have to ask for further information or evidence to verify your identity before we can proceed with your request and may ask for further information to help us locate any specific information you seek. 

Usually we will have one month to respond to a subject access request. However, in case of complex requests, we may require a further two months to respond; if this is the case, we will let you know within one month that we need more time and provide the reason why. We may also charge for administrative time in dealing with any manifestly unfounded or excessive requests, or if you ask for further copies of your information following a request
